Oh and an old one: the already linked Detonátor. Black/thrash, they had a demo in 1990.

I'm only partially biased because I'm working to put out the band's whole discography -- but Thy Catafalque is fucking amazing.

Also, side project Gire.

Don't know other bands in metal to compare them to.
