When it comes to Death it's no secret that the heart of the average NWN poster mainly beats for the first three albums -nothing wrong with that, they're timeless masterpieces and certainly deserve all the praise. But what about the post-Spiritual Healing stuff? Do you enjoy Schuldiner's virtuoso records as well or do you embrace the old school death metal feel exclusively?
Personally I love all their lps, each of them is unique in its own way and an interesting development in the style of the band, too bad the guy passed away as he was a true genius and God knows what he might have come up with after Sound of Perseverance, which I regard as one of the best "progressive" death metal records ever. I'll go with Individual Thought Patterns because it best combines old Death's catchy riffing with the technical edge of the band's later production -just listen to Overactive Imagination and Trapped in a Corner. Not to mention Hoglan's impressive drumming there. But hey, Human, Symbolic and TSoP are just equally mind-blowing, although I'm quite positive Human will lead the poll being the closest thing to those early first records and probably the least "demanding" of the four. _________________ Permabanned

| I've never heard anything after Spiritual Healing. One of my friends gave me a Human CD long ago, but I never listened to it. No idea what ever happened to the CD. |

I like The Sound of Perseverance the best out of their progressive albums. Spirit Crusher is awesome and also their cover Painkiller is great. _________________ Music, Movies, and Video Game Reviews at my website.

Agreed. The opener Scavenger of Human Sorrow is excellent as are the many breakdowns in this album. |

| Tough call when they're all really great. I really liked ITP when I first listened to it but I've listened to Symbolic more times than any of the other albums. |

real tuff call for me between Individual Thought Patterns and Human... I wanna say Human has a couple songs I especially like, but overall it might go to ITP... really tuff call there... I really lost interest after ITP though _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |

I enjoy all of their albums, but for the sake of the poll I say Human. Great songs, love Steve DiGiorgio's bass work. _________________ http://churchofdisgust.bandcamp.com - ROTTEN DEATH METAL

| Love Human. Symbolic is a fun album too. It's been a long time, but I remember hating TSOP. The vocals were bad and the songs were really disjointed. As much as I love Andy LaRocque, I don't think ITP is one of their best, but it's a cool album. |

Tough. Of those, the last is my personal favorite but ITP and Symbolic are strong too. _________________ Listen to Countess. |
