As a descriptor, absolutely. Maybe some Return to Forever/Allan Holdsworth comparables but very little to do with jazz music....
However, whatever you want to call it, this tech/prog/wank stuff fucking rules.... _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/ngadke |

I shiver when read Return to Forever here, where stupid albums like ITP or TSoP are protagonists.
Very predictably, he called me "poor retarded jerk".
But the truth is, most people who want to portray metal as a "mature" kind of music are deluded losers.
_________________

Haha definitely a 'to each their own' here. Personally I love that fusion-y fruity bs but I full well know most don't. _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/ngadke |

It's fairly easy to spot them at least. Gotta love how they always seem to use words/expressions obviously learnt from that book ("life metal", "it's more than just music" etc). _________________ Thread derailed

People featured in "that book" knew what metal meant.
Ex: Cult NSBM crew with a Carcass T-shirt (clearly valuing music over ideology here I guess).

I have always enjoyed all of Death's output, with Spiritual Healing being my least favorable. I chose Human which is probably my favorite from the band. _________________ "Order From Chaos, this band knows how to metal and they know how to satan and they most definitely know how to arghgh. It dosen't suck dick and thats why faggots don't like them. I have entered the stillbirth machine, I suggest you cum too." |

They were young, they know better now. A 37yo releasing DTL albums while babbling about black metal being a way of life is clearly a very clever and grown up individual. _________________ Thread derailed

Human for me. Though I don't listen to Death's post-Spiritual Healing very often. _________________
