Anyone around Los Angeles know much about The VEX Arts venue?
Ever seen a show there? I've never heard of touring metal bands being booked at this place until now.
It looks like some shows are starting to book here (Absu, Marduk, Suffocation). I've been going to concerts in LA for a long time but I have never heard of this venue until now.
Whats the deal with this place? Is it a real venue? How is the area? "Back Castle" bad? Any info or opinions are welcome...
I was more happy when these shows were booking in Hollywood. Now it seems I will have to start trekking all the way to East LA if this is the new place that shows getting booked. |

Scope out the pictures on their Facebook. I was curious about this place too. Doesn't look bad... it's run by Church of the 8th Day. A band I was in played a show he put on with Marduk years back... sound was incredible (however this wasn't at The Vex). Went smoothly. That being said, I'm sure it's way better than Black Castle.
I guess we will see how it really is when we go... I'll be there for Absu! |

I prefer these smaller scattered venues to having to deal with the bullshit up in Hollywood. 5 Star is especially nice (despite the security making Vassafor get rid of the rotting meat), but I haven't been to the Vex yet. I heard it was pretty cool from someone who just went to the most recent metal show they put on there.
