Bloodthirst and Gallery. Kill is the last album that I have and also last one I've heard. After that I severely lost interest on the band... I haven't listened anything by them for a good while.

How so? I can't think of two Slayer albums that sound the same, really, and Slayer definitely flirted with nu metal and all that garbage. Cannibal Corpse has essentially stuck to their vision and at least still writes great music. Can't say the same for the lyrics, but whatever. |

Vote for Vile but after an hard choice through it, Gallery and Bloothirst.
I like Corpsegrinder vocals, not as much as those of Chris but I think Cg was the right choice for Cannibal to make the 'new' brutality after the split.
Also after the entry of Corpse the Cannibal brutality has been an increase in speed that I have loved so very much.
Anyhow I've lost interest in the band from the mediocre Gore Obsessed and the other album after it's very boring for me (except some good ideas on 'The wretched Spawn'). |

How old are you? You sound like one of these modern thrasher kids who are too cool for Slayer, yet worship Forbidden and Death Angel.
What Slayer albums sound "the fucking same"?
Also, what's wrong with bands sticking to the sound they do best? Would you rather Cannibal Corpse start releasing Norwegian Black Metal or Progressive Thrash albums?

The best post barnes album isn't even listed: LIVE CANNIBALISM! I heard em all and that's always been my fav... it's pretty bad ass for a live album, and of course has plenty of pre-corpsegrinder songs. but right next to that is definatly bloodthirst, which I bought when it first came out... I believe it was like the 3rd or 4th death metal album I ever had.

slayer basicly hasn't changed a bit cuz just like cannibal corpse.... they found something that works, everyone buys blind these days....so why change a moneymaking formula?
every cannibal corpse album sounds the same with corpsegrinder, they should fire him and that fool of a Mazurkiewicz, the guy can't blast and only knows two patterns wich is annoying as fuck !

I'm the same except the wretched spawn was the last album I enjoyed I got Kill when it came out I didn't enjoy it at all haven't really bothered with them since. Bloodthirst was always my favourite CC album. |

always like gallery of suicide, there's a few slow songs that break up the album nicely.
also always hated their drummer and their production has gotten worse on every album.
i'll have to check out bloodthirst again, i remember liking it but haven't heard it in a long time.
all the vile love is kind of nuts, i think that's probably my least favorite...

It's not just the production, the songwriting changed enormously after Barnes left. The first four albums relied on groovy riffs mainly whereas after The Bleeding and Vile especially everything became way too brutal and fast for the sake of it. It's basically what happened to Deicide after the Hoffmans were kicked with blastbeats replacing those good rocking riffs, perhaps not that extreme in CC's case but still pretty obvious imo.

Gallery Of Suicide with Bloodthirst and Gore Obsessed close behind.
I always found it kinda funny how in the credits for GoS they put 'vocal patterns' so Fisher could get credit for doing something besides just being the vocalist.
