GORGOROTH is a great name too but then it's Tolkien's Black Speech so...

Short, "straight to the point" type names works best for me, Blasphemy, Mayhem, Kill, Dissection, Death, Autopsy, Horna, et cetera... Two word names can be good too but thats enough. Longer names usually just dont work well. Also, i hope artists who use word "Goat" in band name ever again, get shot in the neck immediately.
English is of course overused, i think people should use their native language more. I rather listen band called GEJOIGEJLIG than another GOATFUNERAL BLOODSHIT.
Special mentions for good wierd names without any proper linguistic meaning like Nyogthaeblisz and Diapsiquir. |

Is a good name important for a metal band? Sure it is, I can actually tell if a band is decent or not by its name only. If your band is called Brenorizozvertrze, Brulhvahnatu and Beketh Nexhemu it's obvious your music sucks pretty b.a.d.

If a band can not come up with a decent name, there's no reason to think it can come up with decent music.
The same is true for the artwork. Shit cover signifies shit music in 99% of occasions. |

"Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult" is a pretty stupid name and fits the band in question accordingly.
