I haven't been following this band for a great many years, and was surprised to see them resurrected as some kind of Hellenic Behemoth. Made me wonder how people feel about them these days. Do they live up to the hype? _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

| Ophidian Wheel is my favorite, but all of the first three albums are great. I wish they would play more old songs live. |

| Either of the last three. Not a big fan of the older stuff. |

| Nothing they ever did is half as good as the Temple of the Lost Race ep, imo... |

i've never heard this band.
I will start with the first EP. They have "cool" dreadlocks and dyed mustaches in modern pictures. |

I have the last three Septic Flesh albums and I like all three. I have heard bits and pieces from the earlier albums. _________________ Well black metal doesn't really go in that group... at all.... Black metal is all witches and warlocks and graveyards....

First three full lengths are fucking amazing. Later material isn't nearly as good. The first EP is MASSIVE too. _________________ Helcaraxë - Epic Heathen Death Metal

I do agree with their first three albums being essential. Mystic Places of Dawn is my fave.
However, I saw them live in 1999 and was disgusted. People were brandishing their lighters like when SCORPIONS plays "Wind of Change".This is totally against what Metal represents for me and I left the place very fast... The band's music at the time reflected the gayness of their fans too. _________________ Scrutare et vide quia propheta a Galilaea non surgit! |

Why Temple of Lost Race is not there? That would have gotten my vote.
But for these, Mystic Places of Dawn. _________________

The first EP should have been on CD. Or is it? I don't know.
Always thought this band is semi-decent otherwise, but the sound is full of those infamous greek nuisances. The drum sound was always strangely plasticy and it all just begs for more "oomph" you know. Yeah they must have been programmed or electric, but it never bothered me with Rotting Christ.
I know we're not supposed to, but I totally like The Great Mass. _________________ §:-«l |

That reissue of Mystic Places has the EP on it. Too bad it looks like crap and for whatever reason, it's remastered... _________________

There's also a brand new reissue of MPOD, featuring the EP tracks as well, for those who didn't like that cover...
