| my only gripe is when a band or individual has like 10 side projects. usually in black metal this occurs and most releases are like what, a one off thing, or a demo and a 20$ LP and I want to check it out, but it looks pretty dumb, yet I enjoy the artists other band... but I've heard like 3 of his other side projects and they were unmemorable... but... |

The most useless side projects are the ones where you get guys from bands that are almost identical, to form another band that is almost identical to what they were doing. The 8 billion In Flames and Soilwork side projects in the late 90's come to mind (that all sound the same, and just as horrible, as the bands they came from).
Congratulations to the OP in thinking that Notre Dame is a side project.

Do you mean just the Balls to Picasso album or his solo material in general? Because Accident of Birth, The Chemical Wedding and Tyranny of Souls are all excellent albums. The ones before them are a bit hit and miss in my opinion.
