Kill 'Em All for me. After getting into and becoming obsesses with my shitty dubbed copy of Appetite for Destruction (which i played until it snapped) the next tapes I got were Kill Em all, Jailbreak and Blow Up Your Video.
Metallica became my favourite band for several years at that stage. Kill Em All and Ride the Lightning are all I need by Metallica, even if there are brilliant moments dotted through the subsequent releases too. _________________ www.myspace.com/wothesperus

'Show no mercy' BY FAR. Flawless album, while 'Kill 'em all' has "Jump in the fire", "Anesthesia" and "Seek and destroy". _________________ Great deals with: Orionized, DEVORADOR DE PLAGAS, Mental Funeral, MEDICAL_WASTE

It's like asking who would you bang between Megan Fox and Liz Hurley. Tie for me as I love them both to death. _________________ Permabanned |

SNM all the way.
I will always prefer old Slayer but downplaying Metallica´s importance would be dumb. _________________ Oh, what fun we have when we exist.

Kill' em all is weakest of the first four Metallica records. Sure its pioneering, has that youthful energy... but fuck you have to be super biased to think they haven't advanced beyond that. And seek and destroy is so fucking overplayed it pisses me off tremendously whenever I hear that riff
Show no mercy has that 'beginner' feel too, be it good or bad. I like that one more though, lyrically and musically very influential on KAT's 666, one of my fav records in that vein.
SNM>KEA for me, both are quite decent speed/thrash but nothing fantastic and easily topped by bands' later work |

Show No Mercy, although Kill 'em All is one of the few Metallica albums I like.
This thread needs a poll. _________________

| Kill em All. Never been that big on Show No Mercy. There are some great songs on it though (Antichrist, Die By The Swords are my 2 favourites). Hell Awaits has always been my favourite Slayer album. |

I go back and forth between SNM and Hell Awaits as my favorite. I think at this moment it'd be SNM, but that could change in an hour. |

too hard to agree or disagree with the others for me, but this one here, the answer is clear.... REIGN IN BLOOD ALL DAY OVER MASTER OF PUPPETS!! different stages, but the only equally great albums between these two would be RTL = RIB. RIB might just be the greatest metal album of all time though. FTW!!!!! _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |

Kill em' all was the first of it's kind in '83, The first thrash metal album in History.
There were "fast" bands back then like motorhead but it didn't sound nothing like Kill 'em all. |

hey now... in fairness the OP (based on trade references spanning back into the early 90s) is probably closer to Liz Hurleys age anyhow, so cut dude a little slack. in any case, she is a total cougar. one that I would no doubt stock and take down if given the chance any day. also much classier of a broad than Megan Fox for sure

SNM came out in 83 as well, so the argument would have to be who tracked demos for this stuff first? I am guessing in this case, it would be metallica. still an interesting argument... I assume KEA came first, but how many months before SNM? I would think both albums were materializing around the same time... my existence in this world wouldn't come for close to a year after these came out, so I guess I'm not a solid authority on this as I wasn't quite there yet. the time frame would be correct for me to potentially be conceived to one of these albums though _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |
