| NOCTURNUS did a great job in the past. the debut from ALCHEMYST has also some killer keys interventions. just wondering why keyboards remain as such an underrated tool in death metal... any more examples of DM bands doing it the right way (or just doing it at all)? |

Acheron and Necros Christos of course.
I guess it's not so much used because it's more like a taboo in death metal. _________________

Cruciamentum. Ok, they don't really use synths but these parts sound fantastic _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

Some examples of keyboards in DM:
Morbid Angel - Chapel of Ghouls, After Death (Mike Browning's new band, uses synths a lot), Carnage - Torn Apart, Carnage/Dismember - Deathevocation, Dismember - In Death's Sleep, Acheron - the "Anti-God, Anti-Christ" and "Those Who Have Risen" albums (using keyboards in the actual songs), Cemetary - "An Evil Shade of Grey" album, The Gathering - "Always..." album, Asphyx - The Rack (track) and Last One on Earth (track).

Anatomia; for creating those Disembowelment-esque atmospheres and melodies without using another guitar. _________________ + EXITIVM PRODVCTIONS +

It's a mandatory to me ; good DM must have good keys parts. Too much bands to quote, but lot's of old finnish or german DM had killer keys! _________________ Official YSENGRIN Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/YSENGRIN/285617594836309 |
