Like a lot of folks here, my music Library (aside from the classic rock and wierdo shit) consistes of a lot of, for lack of better terminology, just plain fast bands. List some that you think use speed as an effective tool in their music. By that I mean, it just makes the shit sound amazingly intense.
Some records I can think of are:
Siege - Drop Dead
Crytic Slaughter - Convicted
Silent Scream and Chemical Warfare - Slayer
Repulsion - Horrified |

Wehrmacht for sure. Both albums are hyper speed perfection. And Sadus with Illusions. _________________

Sadus "Illusions (Chemical Exposure)"
And I would add the first two Deicide albums to the list as well and early Morbid Angel. _________________

Cool that people are mentioning thrash bands above anything else; there is a point at which blast beats sound intense but oddly lack that sense of velocity that the best thrash and hardcore had.
Saying that, Napalm Death - Scum, FETO and the Peel Sessions all need mentioning here. If I could re-live any musical experience again it would be hearing Napalm Death for the first time again. They sounded fucking unreal. |

early Kataklysm & das Oath
also bands that only sometimes play fast, like Goatsblood, Bolt Thrower's Realm of Chaos, GGUW & Spektr
or bands that also play slow sometimes, like Mind Eraser, Weekend Nachos, Wrathprayer & Embrace of Thorns. _________________ Geißel des Fleisches - Bis aufs Blut gequält |
