Seriously though, it sounds great. Really regretting not seeing these guys live when I had the chance.

That's the number one thing I hate about these hipster 'zines. Nothing can be good unless it's a combination of different genres, because that's what "true art" is. What a load of fucking bollocks.

That's because its not cool to be a metalhead but its cool to not be a metalhead but still like metal.
To justify being into so called anti-social music by intellectualising it instead just of giving the midle finger as was the custom in my day.

Fucking YES. Twisted Evil Drums sound fucking great, guitars still killing it, vocals sound like my good friend The Curator hasn't lost anything except his mother fucking clock head.

I thought Swarth was their BEST album yet, and I love where this progression is continuing. Sounds chaotic, but yet tighter and more focused/structured than before which is a logical progression. Four years since the last album!!!

I still think the cover art is a trifle ordinary for them, but it's just a cover. This sounds AWESOME Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I hate to say it but you're spot on Suzanne, this is one of the worst things attitudes to come from the hipster idiots.

Close up its actually pretty fucked up, and watching the spiders and the last bit of detail being drawn by a bloke who was a good 30 beers in swaying around and watching Hannah on a fucked black and white tv makes it even more so

This has to be the clearest production for any PORTAL release imo. However still a killer preview. Sounds fucking brutal! Thanks for the link.

Just noticed the write-up:

"death metal build to black metal blur to noise rock distortion"

Rolling Eyes

Pitchfork can fuck off. Why do so many decent bands and labels collude with them?

Sounds good....production is certainly way clearer but I don't think it really hurts it. I do kinda miss the "rusty" guitar sound...still the riffs are good.

Why do you think? Because they reach a large audience of people that are potential buyers of records. But yeh, I eeked when I read that one too.
