i see for example this song "stumme winternacht" being on several releases, then there are all those compilations, makes you wanna dump your singles then and then with other tracks. i dont see through his discography anymore....

Useless band. Only release that I have is the split with Paysage d'Hiver and certainly not because of Vinterriket, haha.

The guy behind the band is very professional. I have some good stuff from this band but I haven't followed it in the last 2-3 years.

I used to have shitloads of Vinterriket, enjoyed it in great doses in my teens. It was my "winter musick" along with other ambient black metal bands such as aforementioned PdH. It got old after a while so I sold them for cheap in a bulk set and kept some of my personal favorites for nostalgia reasons. Never played em since but they look good in the shelves, hah!

I may be in the minority but I really dig his ambient stuff, even if it does all sound the same. Landschaften Ewiger Einsamkeit is awesome.

Man, my story as well Smile I was in 10-th grade in 2001 when I wrote to Christoph (an extraodinary cool dude) and he replied back along with a promo tape of the "SSturme Der....Stille" along with numerous flyers etc etc....And so through the years up until 2006 I had quite an enourmous collection, autographed, incl all kinds of promos, EP's, albums, tape re-releases (still have one tape cover left from "Winterschatten" released on Bloodhead Prod (Ukr) if anhone wants it), but as I grew this shit turned out to be extremely boring and kinda the same song on repeat.
And I somehow lost my contact with Christoph.
Well, cool years, nice memories and all Smile

Oh, yeah, I sold everything to a belgian guy for 200 or 300 euros, I can't remember really.

I actually liked some of Vinterriket's music, but his discography is pure sadism. Shame...

if anyone wants to start collecting I'd also give up my 25 tapes and 15CDs (all CDs in special versions, like slicases, digis or books) + more books and the aura-pic-ep Wink

Go for the compilations, so you don't have to try to hunt down all individual releases. For example the "Wege in die Vergangenheit" CD contains the "Aura" EP, the "Im Ambivalenter..." EP, the "Kälte" EP, the track from the splits with Orodruin and Paysage D'Hiver plus two tracks from the "Winterschatten" album. Btw, no purely ambient tracks on this CD.

Yes, good idea.

Although the better idea would have been to not even getting started collecting that talentless waste of resources, but it's never too late to repent.

It's awesome project with many great tracks but collecting him releases? That's not clever - too many re-releases, compilations, EP's and so on..
I have most of Vinterriket releases in one format, but not all of those compilations which contains mainly same tracks. And I will buy most of his future new works eventually. I loved his music when I was teen, and I love them now.
Winterschatten is still one of my favorite albums.
