Thoughts on this movie/soundtrack? I must say, this is a fine piece of epic music and a story that continues to put all these new adventure/fantasy movies to shame. _________________ "she has no idea of good music but her ass is real tight." |

| Best soundtrack ever as far as I'm concerned. One of my favourite films/Arnold's best as well. Only have the standard issue, haven't seen the expanded one for a decent price yet. I've heard a bit off the re-recorded one that came out a few years ago, but I till prefer the original. Definitely has it's charms. |

One of the best soundtracks I have ever heard. Abused many times for metal band intros (I'm looking at you, Vital Remains). That said, I still love to hear even a snippet of it whenever/wherever. Basil Poledouris is right up there with Ennio Morricone for me. I also enjoy his Hunt For Red October soundtrack amongst others.
This is worth a viewing if you are into the Conan The Barbarian soundtrack: Riddle of Steel/Riders of Doom

| One of the mightiest movies of all time and my favorite musical pieces ever. I remember trying to score the complete edition 2cd soundtrack over a decade ago but it ended up going for a grand. |

One of my all time favorite movies, ranks with orig. Star Wars series, Naked Lunch, Bladerunner and their ilk. _________________

Great first I heard about this.
Great film must get the soundtrack.
Does anybody know the name of the piece of classical music it's played a few times during the film and it's also at the end of the Plateau of Invincibility song on the 10" EP? it's really famous. |

Seriously?? It was a laugh but hardly a classic like Bladerunner...didn't do justice to the book or the Burroughs mythos in general imo.
On topic: Been ages since I saw the film, but the soundtrack album just seems to get better with age. |

It is a great movie but the books are spectacular, I will give you that. _________________ Oh, what fun we have when we exist.

Cronenberg did a great job on "Naked Lunch" as far as I am concerned, the book itself would have been impossible to adapt for a movie. As for "Blade Runner": Always found that one a bit boring and overrated, nice aesthetics though.
@ topic:
One of the best movies ever, but almost all 80ies Schwarzeneggers are classic and better than some critics may think. I have the score on CD since ages, the only soundtrack I own.
Some say that Arnold and Milius didn't do justice to the books of REH, but that's not really a problem for me. Both versions of Conan have their own charm, so has the sequel "Conan the Destroyer" (which is also better than the general opinion says). The "remake" with Momoa was a complete waste, so was "Kull" with Sorbo.
Looking forward to the new movie! |
