When I first graduated college, had a better than decent job, and lived at my parents house still I built up my record collection significantly. Spent many full paychecks on records during those months. Once I moved out and had to pay rent, I "limit" my spending as about $300.

I wouldn't be able to find enough records worth purchasing to cover that.

In my teenage years HELL YES! Now as an adult with an actual "real" job and responsibilities and priorities HELL NO!

I just buy what is most important nowadays its all about quality not quantity.

...and now it's time for the Greek of the company to speak! Laughing
(to explain to those that may not know/paying attention, Greece is a country in DEEP recession / crisis, during the last 4 years)

these days, I'm able to purchase music depending on if any money left, after covering the usual life expenses (bills etc.) - so, I mostly buy selected stuff, via mail order, once in a while - although there are record shops in my city where you can buy LP's for 1 euro (mostly old rock - non metal).

You can bet I long for the days where with the weekend paycheck, I was able to buy 3-4 albums every week..... Rolling Eyes

Worked during the summer in my teen years. Got payed on Friday twice a month. Visited the record-shop early on the following Saturday, walked out broke but with a few titles in my bag. I used to have some choice titles back then.

I feel your pain. Although I still like saving up money and buying a bunch of records at once just so I can save on shipping. Buying one LP for $18 and paying $15 for shipping is not worth it. I rather buy between 10 and 20 LPs at once and pay $40 for shipping.

NB (Germany) charges only 22 EUR for shipping per parcel. Luckily they have lots of good stuff in stock to choose from.

And I figured that I have so many albums that I don't really need any new ones. I still have some that I had no time to listen to yet.
