It seems as if most bands utilise vocals in some form. Are there many good extreme metal bands with no vocals at all?

How important/necessary is the use of vocals in metal? Can the music alone ever be expressive or interesting enough?

Agree with the ones already mentioned. I also enjoy God is an Astronaut, Pelican, Bongripper, Earthless, and Serpent Throne.

God Is An Astronaut don't have any lyrics per se, but they use vocals in their harmonies.
