Pazuzu from Switzerland which turned to the shitty Azag Thoth

The demo was a simpler, doomier Hellhammer clone. Quite good

Werewolf, was it actually the incriminated song or just the title that was bad?

Both.

As about Warhammer - I totally disagree, since their last album still kicks ass as much as the previous ones in my opinion.
OLD has some killer Hellhammer-inspired tunes without a doubt, that's for sure!

First Devastation (TX) album has some hellhammerish influences as well...

Is Hellhammer really that good when taken out of context? I always assumed that if they had not existed then, and popped up as a new band, they'd be laughed out of existence. I guess I was wrong. I never imagined that "Hellhammer clones" would even exist...

Personally I think there was something special about Hellhammer that is worth imitating, although I don't listen to the originals much or love them unconditionally. The idea of Hellhammer is more interesting than all but a couple of their tracks.

I do like some of the better clones though, who generally take the approach of playing and recording things just a little better, while still trying to preserve the atmosphere. Apokalyptic Raids is one example, and I think they're a good band.

The thing that got me totally amazed about Hellhammer was the sound of their first 2 demos, with the bass' volume turned as loud as the guitar's. It sounded fuckin' raw and evil! I still prefer the demos over the EP, except for the TRIUMPH OF DEATH version of the EP.

Metal Mind have released loads of legit Roadrunner and Nuclear Blast stuff in recent years.

I totally worship Hellhammer and old Frost.
So,I bang my head hard every time I hear old Usurper(especially''thresholds of the usurper'').''Slavehammer'' is one of the best death metal songs ever.It has a goddamn furious rhthym. This is REAL death metal.
Hey Werewolf, don't like Cianide?Oh god, they kick ass!Listen to the song ''envy and hatred'' from the fantastic album ''death, doom and destruction''.The eternal hellhammer/Frost riffs are there to give you the maximum metal pleasure!Argggghhhh!
I have to mention the ultimate ''Panzerfaust''.Classic and well-known choice, but it is so Frost-ish..More than Celtic Frost!!!
Nice bands I saw in the previous answers.Trench hell are not so Hellhammer but they kill! The German Old too!
