So there seem to be a bunch of newer Swedish Death Metal band, which are the best in your opinion?
Which bands are worth checking out?
Repugnant, Kaamos, Invidious and Tribulation are a few I've listened to and to be honest I don't think they're all that great, though that's not to say they're necessarily bad. _________________

I like Karnarium, but they're far from being your typical "swedeath revival" band. I don't even bother checking out most newer Swedish DM bands anymore.
I'll stick to the Gods (Entombed, Carnage, Grave) and the "kvlt classics" (Gorement, Crypts of Kerberos, Darkified, Crematory). _________________

Not really sure if this is about "new old school" bands from Sweden or just newer death metal from Sweden but here's a whole bunch I would recommend checking out:
Bombs of Hades
Vanhelgd
Miasmal
Verminous(not too new really but the new record will be out soon)
Tormented
Revolting
Funeral
Maim
Morbus Chron
Necrovation
Death Breath
Bastard Priest
Entrails(especially the first demo)
Puteraeon(demos especially) |

I'm a fan of the band cryptborn. They are Finnish, but there style definitely leans toward the Swedish side of things. Definitely worth checking out.

This being the case, you're probably not going to be too impressed by ANY Swedish death metal band of the last 10-15 years. _________________ http://thykindreddreamers.blogspot.co.uk/ |

Facebreaker
Corrosive Carcass
Torture Division
To name just the ensemble who stayed true to the Stockholm sound.
Also don't like bands who are influenced by punk sound.
Punk has nothing to do with (swedish) death metal [IMHO]. |

| Nominon are solid I guess. Swedish dm is shit in general, but Revolting, Morbus Chron, and Vanhelgd are solid as well. |

Isn't that Sportlov you're thinking of? With the Snoballerskrieg or however it's spelt, (Snowball War).
Still trying to find their album, got the EP a little while back. _________________ Must find Amon Amarth - Arrival Of The Fimbul Winter demo tape ( Blue) + SCUM (Pre Amon Amarth demo) |

Demonical is top notch. Three albums which easily destroy everything Dismember/Entombed/Grave released after '96. _________________ Permabanned |
