Edit: topic got cut off, should've said Head Not Found 1997

I just discovered this album about a week or so ago and can't stop listening to it. I'd remembered hearing about this project when it came out but never gave them a listen. From the minds behind Troll and (early) Covenant, this album comes across like a more "Norse" sounding In Times Before the Light. The quality of riffs through the album is about as good as it gets for this era and they're all synth drenched (ala the debut from Covenant) with an occasional nod to VBE singing style. I'm guessing at the time of its release this album was considered too derivative of the aforementioned bands but I find this album really quite fascinating, very cold and majestic sounding stuff with great songwriting and a lot of substance to each song (i.e. not 2 or 3 riffs repeated for 6 minutes).

It's a very well crafted album to my ears. Underrated, even.

Lastly, looks like this was never released on vinyl. Ahem.

It's a good album when you get the 90s nostalgia vibes, but I'd actually prefer its successor, Mirrored Hate Painting, if not for the dreadful sound issue plaguing the 2nd half of the album.

Agreed! Great albums but Mirrored wins, easy.
