So as I'd mentioned in that other "Sorcery worship" thread, I have compiled all the information I could gather about this LP and posted a web site about it. I put the finishing touches on the site today, here's the link.

www.sorcery-sinistersoldiers.webs.com

This should really put the end to the debate on how to identify originals of this LP, because as Yosuke put it "The evidence is there". No matter how hard the bootleggers tried, they couldn't get it 100% right. It was interesting to sort through all the information, it was like one of those "spot the differences" games in magazines or something!

I hope this site is of some use to others, I've spent 15 years trying to figure this shit out! haha...

Enjoy!

Sounds like this LP is more complicated than the crystal skulls, the ark of the covenant, the holy grail, and the mystery of the great pyramid and sphinx.

Good investigation my friend. You now are charged with figuring out the caramilk secret. Please and thanks. Razz

We need a similar site for the Exterminator "total extermination" LP. The bootleggers did a decent job of replicating most of the details.

I thought the Exterminator boots were missing the window on the front cover?

Haha... yeah, well it is complicated! And if you don't know how to tell the difference (which I didn't for a long time!) you can end up on the wrong end of one of these LPs!

That's how this whole thing started when I got one of the boots in a trade in the late 90's (which I immediately traded back) and ever since then I've been trying to figure out how to tell the difference between the originals and boots. It took a while to get to the bottom of it.

I'll work on the crystal skulls next!

Great work! Easy to tell the difference now, though I doubt to ever grab a copy of the orig. or boot.

What about Till death do we part. Was that bootlegged too?

Who knows, maybe the boots will actually start changing hands for reasonable prices now that the cats out of the bag. I mean, they had to have made at least a couple hundred I imagine, or as many as 500 could be out there? Though they may not have just decided to never release most of the pressing into circulation to avoid suspicion. But if they are sitting on boxes of them now would be the time to dump them!

Nope the second LP was never booted. I should probably put a page on that site talking about that album too, it's a rocker!

Apparently there is now another bootleg version of this DLP. I recently got one from a Greek seller that is almost identical to the "replica bootleg" described on the site, except that they have corrected the center label discrepancy on this version. In other words, the center labels look identical to the original version (i.e., without the Century Records logo overlapping the album title). I still need to listen more closely to "Aracnid" to see if they bothered/tried to fix the audio glitch in the solo. My guess is that whoever did the first bootleg version fixed the center label layout and repressed it.

Noticed another discrepancy between my copy and the other bootleg. The center label on side 4 misspells "Airborne" on both versions, but the "original" bootleg spells it as "Airborn," whereas my version has it as "Airbone." Looks like Omid isn't very active here these days, so I'll try to e-mail him in case he wants to update the site.

Anybody out there who listened to the new 2014 double LP edition ???
As I really like that album (but can't listen to my DODO CD with the needle jump during one track), I think about buying the new boot. Does it sound good ?

This new boot sounds very good to me. I'm going to send photos of this new boot to Omid as soon as I have a chance so that he can update the site. That info. on Discogs is confusing at best and possibly inaccurate. It seems to claim that this bootleg is an official version released by Century Records.

your actually better off getting the cd re issue that monster records did in the 90's then any of the bootlegs made. its cut from the master reels and fully endorsed by the band. probably cheaper to get too. its out of print, but surfaces from time to time. i refuse to buy the boot lp for the last twenty or so years. i heard it at some friends house in the 90s and it sounded awful.
