About damn time. Sound quality isn't amazing, but it sounds like King.

New album is gonna be called The Institute.

About damn time is right. It's going to be a double album. The concept sounds great (as expected). I have high hopes for this one - Give Me Your Soul Please was so fuckin rockin and well-composed. Hail the King!

Probably one of the more anticipated albums in my time. GMYSP got a lot of play by me when it came out but over time I can’t say I ever really go back to it. Some of that album is weakly executed Looking forward to this 100% though.

Sounds like something that could have appeared on The Eye but with less exciting riffs.

That explosive flare they had for writing crazy tracks seemed to end when Mikkey Dee left the band. Plenty of great albums (not a single “bad” one) came out after that period but it was never quite the same.

Just looked up what Mikkey was doing now, turns out he's the drummer for the Scorpions did not know that.

Sounds good! it may not have the edge of the classic albums, but new King Diamond is always good news!

I really wish that album wasn't my initial King Diamond experience. Watched the music video at the time of release, and I really hated the modern-sounding tone. It didn't help that I wasn't used to his style of singing, which I found too corny for the time being. Little did I know that he was capable of so much better twenty years before that pile of crap. I did listen to the song and most of the album again, and while I can take the mediocrity, it's just not worth the logo brand, when albums such as Melissa, Don't Break the Oath, Abigail, and Conspiracy already exist.

With that said, I'm looking forward to the new album. The song isn't anything we hadn't already heard before, but I'm getting some Fatal Portrait vibes (think "Charon").

I'm a huge King fan but still haven't heard a single song from Puppetmaster or Give Me Your Soul, Please for some reason. I did quite like Abigail II and I think it's his best post-Spider's Lullaby album. Not in the same league as pre-Spider stuff but there are 2 or 3 songs there that are really good and I can't remember any stinkers.

The Puppet Master is my favorite of his "modern" stuff. For anything else besides the first five albums, it's The Spider's Lullabye.

I'd say Voodoo (which also features one of my favourite storylines) and then TSL. Very excited to see him perform next Thursday after his glorious Abigail tour.

I was lucky enough to catch him back in 2014 on the same day that Satan played. Since there was an hour-long gap between shows, anyone who saw King Diamond got a good discount. The Highline was packed with people from the previous concert. Never seen that many metalheads in a sardine can.
