Hey so I was reading a thread where several people mentioned a band starting with a "K" being really good "summoning worship" and I had interest in checking them out but can't find that thread again. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Also feel free to list any bands that do this style well. Thanks.

Edit: It was Kinstrife & Blood who I was thinking of. Thanks.

Kinstrife & Blood
Caladan Brood
Elffor
Emyn Muil
Valar
Nachtmahr / Psychomantum Split
Nazgul (Italy)

There's definitely more bands but these are the main ones I can think of.

Does anyone remember the name of the band that had a great Lugburz worship album?

Some Uruk-Hai stuff qualifies:

"Cirith Ungol" album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19LzeTb_pgw

"The Orc" track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1xi3UwON7U

"When Gondor's Horn Sounds" track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXr5R4N-JZA

"Krieg des Zorns" (long excerpt): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC3aw_tQc9g

Definitely try Kinstrife & Blood, I had hard time to move my initial 500 copies of this excellent album, glad that finally some attentions are attracted. If you are into post Lugburz before Stronghold Summoning, that is more monotonous and less sample/clear chant&singing, you will like K & B.

I don't get the parallel... Summoning are way beyond CB.

I think you are thinking of Kashmar... http://dungeonlorefoundation.bandcamp.com/track/echoes-of-old-times

However, there is only one Summoning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=a-k7ugMCSRU#t=82

I think the parallel is quite obvious, polyphonic orchestral melodies, slow epic tempos, programmed drums with unorthodox use of toms, clean choral vocals, lyrical themes of high fantasy topics.

That being said Summoning innovated that sound and Caladan Brood (while an excellent band) is rather influenced by that sound while not adding too many elements (beyond guitar solos) that are distinctly their own. From a melody / structure standpoint though there's no denying Caladan Brood writes excellent music.

Another band that may be of interest (full disclosure, it's my band) might be Mirkwood - https://mirkwoodband.bandcamp.com/album/mirkwood my main influence is definitely Summoning.

Your link doesn't work because of the "," in it at the end Wink

But this sounds really good, I like it a lot!!!

Mirkwood, just like Silenius' excellent project from the 1990's, so you're highly inspired indeed! Jokes aside, will check out your band.
