This might be of interest for some of you. 40 Watt Sun arose from the ashes of Waring. Their debut "The Inside Room" is allready 5 years old (and has aged well imo). The long awaited follow up "Wider Than The Sky" is finally up for pre order here: http://svartrecords.com/shoppe/home/3799-40-watt-sun-wider-than-the-sky-2lp.html

I love Warning (listened to The Strength to Dream today, actually) and 40 Watt Sun. Really looking forward to the new album. The small snippet they have released sounds like another step away from the doom of Warning, but I love Pat Walker's vocals, lyrics and melodies and I'm more than happy to follow him on his journey away from metal.

Good news! First one took me some time to grow, but in the end I fucking loved it.

This was funny haha.

Warning was fantastic but 40 Watt Sun was a bit more miserable (In a good way). Just really forlorn and not contrived in the least. Genuine melancholy. Stoked on a new record for sure.

Quite enjoyed the first album. And I guess because the shirt I have was given to me by a friend who quite liked them and then died, after we'd seen them live, they're always gonna have a bit of a special place.

I saw them play the new album in a small gig in a church last year, wasn't impressed with any of the new songs. The only old stuff they played was carry me home and restless at the end of their set and Walker managed to forget a line in carry me home so had to stop and start the song again...

I prefer Warning over 40 Watt. Watching from... is a modern classic!

It's one of my favorites too. They sound a lot like Red House Painters on this album. However, RHP are far superior.

40 Watt Sun is like the "summer" version of Warning, still emotive but with just a tad warmer delivery

Didn't enjoy this new 40 Watt Sun album nearly as much as the first one on first listen but after reading this I think I was listening to it in the wrong light since I do love RHP
