Nothin gets the ladies wetter than a double feature of I Spit on Your Grave and Cannibal Holocaust I tell ya what

10 years or so ago, I was living with a buddy and one night he brought this normal/not metal chick back from a bar to out apartment for what he was hoping would be a one night stand. He decided to put on I Spit on Your Grave for her. Did not go well at all. I remember as she left about 30 minutes into it (or whenever the rape on the big boulder happens) and was going down the stairs to leave the building, he was saying to her over and over "It's okay, she gets her revenge on each one of them at the end!" Laughing Rolling Eyes I kinda tried to hint to him not to put it on, but decided to just keep it to myself after a while and watch the evening unfold.

True, and you get a lot of bang for buck.
It feels like there isn't a third one coming. I read Rian Johnson (the director) is handling the new trilogy but no word on a third movie in this one.

Hopefully it was the original and not that shit filled remake.

Yeah it was the original. This was years before the remake. It was a spectacular, 10/10 fail on my roomates part. So funny Laughing

I bet he was completely dumbfounded that his plan backfired.

Good, solidly entertaining action movie! Better than Rambo 2.

RE: bummer movies and dates. I was with a lady for four years after our first “alone hangout” consisted of the double feature Easy Rider b/w Apocalypse Now. I must have a lot going for me back then for that to have worked out Laughing

I made it 1/4 of the way through Fritz Lang's Metropolis (restored version) recently on Netflix. Need to get back to it. Planning on watching J'Accuse next...

Oh yeah, I saw the new Star Wars tonight. I'm still processing it. Also in a lot of pain right now. And don't worry, no spoilers from me!!!!!

Nothing beats the 2nd Rambo movie. "Murdock... I'm coming to get YOU!".

Respectfully disagree. I find part 3 boring and sluggish compared to 2.

Finally got round to watching mother!

Not sure. It was OK I suppose. I didn't really think of it much as a horror film, although towards the end I kept thinking about Rosemary's Baby.
Mother-hood, mother-earth Mary, archetypes...yeah, I get it. The final scenes were very try-hard, edgy, unnecessarily 'shocking' stuff, which made me think a bit about Neon Demon.

I didn't think it was terrible.

Jennifer Lawrence, 'average bar skank'? Nah.

Also watching Godless. Good western series indeed.

Enjoying Vikings so far. The guy who plays Ivar I'm not convinced by his acting for some reason though. Missing Ragnar, wondering what is going on with Floki's storyline. Floki is the best.
