The Funhouse (1981)

Four teenagers end up trapped in an amusement park only to find out that they are being stalked by a killer. Not original in the slightest, but still a good watch.

Joe is a pretty decent movie that features Nicolas Cage.

I watched the AGFA Blu Ray release of Effects this morning. Very odd film, surprisingly trippy plot/structure and if you like weird Pennsylvania DIY horror/thriller shit from the 70s/80s I’d definitely give it a look. Sorta “boring” at times but the strangeness of the film keeps it engaging enough.

Thanks for the tip...sounds like something worth checking into

Going to watch it tonight myself too.

Have you seen Beyond the black rainbow, his previous film? Just so you have an idea of what we might be in for...!

I was really hoping to enjoy Mandy, but came out very disappointed. Felt like it pandered to hipsters and was trying way too hard. And Cage is too aware of his persona for his freakouts to seem authentic anymore.

Just finished rewatching "Don't Be a Menace..." (1996). One of my favorite movies from my childhood, and despite its perpetual aging, I still think it's better than most of the modern comedies. Also, recently rewatched "Fist Of Fury" (1972) and "Enter The Dragon" (1973), absolute masterpieces of the martial arts genre!

They are better than this new one. Requiem being worse of them but the first AVP film is great.

What? That film was fucking awful of course, what would you expect though from a PG-13 AvP movie? A let down in every way...

Dude, no, no, just no. Don't mention Mandy and hipsters in the same sentence for fuck's sake.

Blazed through the newest season of "Bojack Horseman", one of my current fav tv shows. I was hesitant because season 4 lacked just a bit and once a show gets to 5 it's dicey no matter what, but it turned out pretty damn good. I love that they're not afraid to take risks on whole episodes (see the funeral monologue episode in season 5 and the silent underwater episode in season 4). I did find the last couple episodes and the ending less compelling then previous finales... probably best if they wrap the story up next season before they truly lose all direction. Stylistically, it's one of the best animated shows ever IMO and it's self-referential spirit is so clever and endearing. Plus, Bojack is fucking relatable as hell to a sad shit like me Razz

Yep. One of my favorites of the past few years. Amazing visuals and soundtrack.

Watched Gaspar Noe's "I stand alone." Didn't pack the punch that the first viewing did years ago, but I still enjoyed the slow decent into madness.
