Was finally able to watch In The Mouth Of Madness. What a great, apparently a little overlooked John Carpenter movie. The production is a leaning towards B-movies, but that's not a concern when you're just spiraling into insanity. I'm sure everything makes sense in the film, but it's not easy to dissect what is real here and what isn't and Carpenter does what a good director should when he leaves the threads open for the viewer to knit. Might be that nothing is real in the story and it's just fiction having an existential crisis. Or maybe Sam Neill was the only sane person left, like at one point the movie suggests, probably just to deceive. It's all hallucinatory and has a twisted atmosphere, with lovecraftian things coming to destroy the world.

9 old ones out of 10! I also have this on R1 DVD from New Line Cinema released in 2000. Might sell that, but there are a few on Ebay too if you're looking to save in postages.

Great acid movie.

Seasons 3 & 4 might be the best overall but seasons 1-5 of The X-Files are some of the best TV ever. It's funny how weaker seasons like 6th or 9th still shit all over most other TV shows.

Might toss on Burnt Offerings tonight. A bonafide cult classic.

Got around to seeing A Quiet Place last night, thoroughly enjoyed it. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt work so well together, it was very methodical and the fact that most of the first hour of the movie is almost silent makes the last end of where it's loud and there's things going on real interesting, would recommend it.

I take it that you've seen Blood Cult from 1985? If not, then check it out. Quite gory for its time.
