I thought it was really good although it could have used substantially more Kaiju combat. My best description would be that it was very similar to the more serious G films of the mid-Showa era.

Transcendence at the $2 Cinema last night - It suffered from poor flow of the storytelling. The narrative at the resolution of the plot was lame.

Elektroma http://youtu.be/1WgIRXm19pY

That this movie is made by Daft Punk may deter some of you, but it is definitely worth watching!!

No dialogues, very few but magnificent chosen music and stunning scenes.
Especially the final 10 minutes.

Early David Cronenberg movies are Classics, really must-see obligatory films. The best ones from the classic era are:

1977 "Rabid" www.imdb.com/title/tt0076590
1979 "The Brood" www.imdb.com/title/tt0078908
1983 "Videodrome" www.imdb.com/title/tt0086541

Outside the classic Cronenberg period also check out the 1996 "Crash" www.imdb.com/title/tt0115964

Canadian Art = Superion.

Agreed.

Videodrome is amazing. One of my favourite films; funnily enough I was talking about this film to a friend recently, and how I need to watch it again ( for the umpteenth time!)

I haven't seen Cosmopolis, but I liked A history of violence and eastern promises. I thought A dangerous method was ok...unmemorabe ( aside from Kiera Knightly..!) actually; perhaps I should watch it again.

Have you seen Antiviral by his son Brandon? Kind of in a similar vein to his Dad's earlier stuf...

Yeah i only watched Videodrome last year, and couldn't believe how great it was. Totally worth all of the props it gets.

If I had a top ten list this would be in it.

Watched 'edge of tomorrow'. Pretty entertaining.

Speaking of Cronenberg, I stumbled across a film called "A dangerous method" on TV last week. About Freud and Jung and the development of psychoanalytic theory and their eventual falling out. Really good film, and I didnt realise till the credits rolled that it was Cronenberg directing.

Plus it has Kiera Knightly getting her arse spanked over a couch. In several scenes. which is a plus.

Hah, yes, that's what remember. I guess I should re-watch it soon...

Anyway, I watched Man Bites Dog last night, funny stuff.

HE WAS LICKING ME!!!!!

So many good lines in that film. I wish someone would put the soundtrack out on vinyl.
