Nightmare in a Damaged Brain is boring and lame, not really worth putting in the same league as Maniac and New York Ripper. It's just extremely overhyped like most video nasties.

Ridiculous comment... while some video nasties were overrated, Nightmare isn't.

Only God Forgives - I liked this a lot, a meditative journey through a psychological hell where an unforgiving living god judges and punishes (with brilliant intense gore). I know everyone hated this movie, but fuck everyone, this guys movies are easy to follow and entertaining, I don't see the problem.

Outrage - Beat Kitano's equally slow paced meditative Yakuza flick that is about a series of small insults snowballing into all out war. The film winds up just being one sadistic kill scene after another, and surprisingly hilarious without ever going into hysterics. Another odd one of a kind gory classic from Kitano.

Pi was my first exposure Aronofsky years ago on VHS. Been a fan ever since. Still haven't seen The Fountain or Noah yet though. Really wish he ended up doing a Batman film. Obviously Nolan did a good job with his films, but i got excited when i read an article about Aronofsky doing a script about Batman and Gordon.

-C.H.U.D. (Douglas Cheek, 1984)
-Tenebrae (Dario Argento, 1982)
-Bloody Murder (Ralph Portillo, 2000)
