The King of Comedy is great! Easily one of DiNero's very best performances.

Deer Hunter, Cape Fear, Goodfellas. That is the DeNiro I like best.

Of course these are all classic performances, but King of Comedy sticks out to me because it's such a different character than we usually see him play. It's "different" for him.

Some already old movie with Ray Liotta called NARC - not bad, not so good either, somehow I've missed that back in the days.

1997's Paul Thomas Anderson "Boogie Nights".
Fantastic cinematography, sui generis soundtrack compilation, Thomas Anderson unique humour & storytelling.
Original and classic.
As good as Stanley Kubrick masterpieces.

The Killer Must Kill Again. Pretty average giallo unfortunately. Loved Hilton at first but he spends most of his time faking to be moved by his wife's death. The killer is pretty damn creepy though. It's a pretty uneventful film that plods quite a bit.

47 Ronin was dogshit, stopped paying attention halfway through. Cheap Thrills was pretty solid, much better than Would You Rather.

Passing by the TV, "Oh, Godfather is on, I love that scene...but I gotta go..."

...2 hours later, still in the same position:

Just finished True Detective 1st season - it's cool, but overhyped as hell!

I didn't think it was so bad, it took me like 3 tries to watch the last one without accidentally falling asleep but I had a lot of fun watching that show.

I'm undecided about the ending. Part of me really wanted it to go full-blown Lovecraftian horror. But having read some interviews with the writer, he maintains that the internet took some comments he made about being a fan of such stuff and made a lot more mileage out of that element of the plot than he intended.

It certainly wasn't what I hoped, but I can see why it was done that way.

Next time you should start watching something more than half an hour before bedtime.
