Phillip Seymour Hoffman died??
Did not know that... I guess Portugal is Africa so it takes time for the big news to arrive here.

Not too much of a loss.

agreed to the latter. not everyone has the willpower to use things like that. too bad, he was a storming actor. i had just rewatched talented mr ripley for the first time in over a decade a few weeks ago.

Two classics right there. Love the Wang Chung soundtrack in TLADILA. Totally 80's! Oh, and William Peterson's jeans are tighter than Kreator's in the Coma of Souls photo shoot. Laughing

Tequila Sunrise (AKA the most 80s movie that isn't starring John Cusack)

Finally started watching The Wire.

Outstanding in every way. Well worth the praise.

It's pretty good series. Final season is not that good, or at least it was a mild disappointment.

The Boys from Brazil
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H58H_kAZZsY

Cool plot where a refugee Mengeles is trying to recreate the 3rd Reich.

The Time of the Wolf
French post apocalypse movie where not much happens but some dreary tension and slow misery. Dug it.

Just started watching the series Lost which I always avoided for some reason, but it looks like it is pretty good 5 episodes in.

Yep. The show gets better and better as it goes on, then hits a bit of a rut for most of season 5, but I do think they really nailed the last few episodes and ended it very well.

Fantastic movie... and holy shit is Merissa Tomei fucking hot in the beginning of that film when she's banging Phillip Seymour Hoffman. I can't believe a woman her age looks that good.
