Honestly for a cannibal film for me, nothing beats Ultimo Mondo Cannibale (Last Cannibal World aka Jungle Holocaust).

On the weekend I watched The Wrestler and Southern Comfort, both rule in hell.

Watched justice league, terrible 1/10. How thy can make an expensive movie look so cheap is amazing, plus the casting is terrible bar aquaman, Ben affleck looks fat and the wonder woman is an awful choice.
Makes the transformers movies look OK, and that's hard to do.

Looking forward to Mandy. And since my friend is piping up my gates about Susperia remake, I'll probably see that too even though I don't want to.

I'm actually curious to see Suspiria remake, I don't expect anything but I'll probably give a to go on some rainy boring day.

Hereditary also when a decent rip suffices, we don't get those kind of films in cinema here.

What are some good recent occult horror films? I think The Witch is the newest I've seen. It wasn't bad, just too grey and dramatic.

The Witch was a definite masterpiece.
I like The Ritual and A Dark Song, as far as occult is concerned.

The best (horror) genre in my eyes.

Check Ben Wheatley's Kill List as well.

Everyone has already probably seen this, but the Ninth Gate is also a masterpiece.

Wouldn't know any news ones apart from Hereditary.

Watched Sharkenstein and Live And Let Die tonight.

Sharkenstein, even by the standards of negative budget films, is horrifically bad. The special effects consist of cheap computer gimmickry that a child can do in ten seconds at random, the monster is either an awful CGI or a bad toy, the casting is bad with worse acting, and the sets are beyond terrible (secret labs in Nazi Germany did not have glass sides on their staircases!). Add to that a cliché-heavy plot that beats everyone over the head with references to far better Frankenstein and B-level horror films along with unending reusing of shots, and it may very well be the absolute worst movie I have ever seen.

Live And Let Die, in contrast, was much more enjoyable. Certainly not the best James Bond movie, but I would say it is at least better than all of Pierce Brosnan's outings with the exception of GoldenEye.

Winding Refn's new, free streaming site. Definitely worth a look for some genre/arthouse/grindhouse

Grabbers - Decent horror/comedy about an Irish town located on a remote island who is terrorized by squid-like creatures. The effects were alright although I'm not a huge fan of CGI and it wasn't as gory as I expected, but I ended up thinking it was alright.

Decampitated - Re-watched this shitfest for the first time in several years. Only for people who are REALLY into Troma.

Zardoz - a young Sean Connery, how young you ask? ...young enough to make a film wearing a orange speedo the whole movie. Good movie.

The Man from Earth - hmm, probably would have made a better book to read than a film to watch. The subject content is a excellent idea, mainly lacks any manner of visual excitement, but that's not what this film is about though... so a book would be the ideal format for this film. Excellent though.

The City of Lost Children - a young Ron Pearlman in a strange and interesting film. I liked it a lot.

Watch 'A Dark Song' ...its fairly recent and I would say pretty damned good.
