"We're bloody excited about this one. Rob Halford and the gang are getting ready to release the follow-up to 2008's Nostradamus and to whet our ears and make us giddy they're streaming a new track. Turn it up loud."

The brand new track has just been posted on the official Judas Priest website with the message: "We are revved up and ready to UNLEASH the PRIEST one more time for our metal fans around the world so here's a track for you to listen to entitled Redeemer Of Souls from our new album of the same title."

Redeemer Of Souls will be released July 14th in the UK (Columbia Records), and July 15th in the US (Epic Records)

Dude Angel of Retribution and Nostradamus were both awesome. Like not.... Stained Class awesome, but some killer fucking epic shit on both of them. I'm down. I'll check out this track later but I bet it's gonna be hella tight. I hope they tour again, seeing them with Heaven & Hell a few years back ruled.

It's ok. Sounds like a Painkiller b-side. It could've used a Halford scream to end it.

Priest is one of my all-time favorite bands, but I haven't liked anything they've done since Painkiller. Will check out the new song, but my expectations are low.

EDIT: OK, so I've listened to the new song twice so far. It's actually pretty good - much better than expected. I like the fact that it's fairly simple and back-to-basics metal. Nothing mind-blowing, but it's cool and makes me want to hear the rest of the album.

Of course the energy of the 80ies isnt there anymore, but its a good true metal song, nice.

Yeah, sounded like a bad leftover from Painkiller times. Personally I think Halford's solo album Resurrection is far better than any of the reunion albums.

Anyone heard this? I think I'm going to go buy a copy for 12 bucks today.

I gave it a listen a few weeks ago when they had it streaming. It's an OK album that's probably a little too long. I'd still consider purchasing a copy though. Excited to see them on tour in the fall
