Man, early Accept rules. I always loved the weird, dark vibe they had in their early days before they went fully stadium metal. It's that same eerie, unsettling metal feeling that early Priest had about them.

Not to mention Accept had great chops and were just metal as fuck. Udo is a little bastard!

Agreed. People give way too much credit to 80's Priest when they recorded their best stuff in the 70's. Same goes for Accept.

Yes, '80ies Accept is way tamer, but then again "Breaker" is among the best stuff they ever did.

Hey, that's my opinion since many years. Priest, Scorpions, Accept - their outputs of the seventies are the best. Even if I like some of their eighties material, the seventies ones are my faves forever and in...eternity. The song-material is better, as well as the whole sound....

80's Priest is too arena rock sounding. I prefer their heavy/hard rock approach on their first 4 LPs.

I feel that another band who falls into the "holy shit, greatest band ever until '77" category are Scorpions. In Trance and Virgin Killer are two of my favorite albums of all time, but wow, the downhill trajectory for these guys was insanely rapid and ugly.

Currently listening again to Breaker.
This album is a total riff fest of immense magnitude. The opening riff of Starlight is a sheer example of heavy metal. Absolutely brilliant, and THE perfect '80ies german album..

Agreed great album, but the lyrics to "Starlight" are a cheese fest and for this reason it is my least favourite song on the album.

Ok now. Accept is one of those big bands that I never checked very close. I only have Metal Heart, and was not really blown away by that, but if you say the earliest material is different then maybe its time to dig deeper in their catalog...

it depends what you like to pay for it. I think one could do a pretty good one, single copy, pro-done (not printed) for about 40-50 euro (like a friend of mine did a pretty great looking one back patch in green colours of denial of gods logo <--- killer).

LOVEDRIVE does it for me...
