|
|
I just found this on YT:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWnsY77dRCs
I assume it is the 'blood upon the soundscape' recording and it's what released as tape, before a few months
something weird here: the voice doesn't sounds like 'Black Winds' to me - way high pitched / screeching type, like the Norwegian ones and nothing like the BUTA demo or FAOD era.
So, is this a real rehearsal recording from 1989, or a scam recorded by some other band years later?
edit: these fuck-ups that made the tape, doesn't even have the playlist right on the cover:
http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=4095683
on the youtube clip, the playlist is the same as on the 'fallen' album side one (minus intro and title track) - the 'desecration' track is played AFTER 'hording..' and 'darkness prevails' - the smell of scam is all over the place.... are we sure it's not played by Black Witchery? _________________ Quote from unnamed forum:

| Sounds like the whole thing is pitched/sped up a bit. |

yes, you are right - the songs are not in the same register and everything is way faster - I'm planning to extract audio from the clip and alter the pitch like the one on the records - then I 'll be able compare the voice. _________________ Quote from unnamed forum:

This recording is about as genuine as the Burzum live cd or the Bathory "live" tracks.
Maybe play Fallen Angel Of Doom on a jukebox in some uber cult "metal bar" record it on a gay iphone and release it as an old live lp. Thats a better idea. Theres at least 666 cunts on here who would buy it. |

so your opinion is that it is a scam, like the shitty cover of that tape....
.....anyway, who gives a shit? history is written with the official releases of the band - also, right now I'm waiting anxiously for the Death Worship release - these were fuckin' great news! _________________ Quote from unnamed forum:

Blood Upon the Soundscape tape exists. I have one with a hand written letter from Black Winds circa 1989. There's also a video of the same rehearsal that circulated in the VHS trading circuit of the early 90's.
I'll try listening to that youtube link tomorrow. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.
