Hellhammer - Triumph of Death
Burzum - Det Som Engang Var
Destruction - Bestial Invasion
Bathory - Enter the Eternal Fire

Well these are just some of what I think are the best, I could be wrong of course.

Predictable comment, but I think Wasp's best songs are not their hit-tracks. I think they lean too much towards the pop metal category, they're fun but definitely not best. My Wicked Heart is their undeniably best song, people who are not aware of it should give it a check.

I haven't listened to their entire discography, but I cannot imagine they wrote too many songs better then this.

Naaa... The entire "unexpected guest" album is equally good. In fact I always skip "don't break the circle"

Heard one AMON AMARTH track and it was great, nice mixture of Bolt Thrower and At the Gates. Dont remember the title but it was from "Versus the world" and so I had to buy that record. Bad mistake, the mentioned track was there but other songs were utter shit.

Same goes with UNLEASHED. "Before creation of time" is a great track but havent heard one single good song from them since that.

So no Vikings ov Death Metal for me then

Not necessarily "undeniably the best", but..

Dissection - Thorns of Crimson Death
I remember buying the album on the basis of this song alone and being disappointed at first because no song was equal to it in any way. It's grown on me since though, and is now one of my favorite albums (sorry NK7, I'm just.. not good enough), but this song remains the height of their excellence.

Brutal Truth - Birth of Ignorance
Catchy as fuck, and nostalgic for me as well. Implementing politically correct lyrics into death metal without devolving into faggotry is a feat in itself.

Furdidurke - 'Main Song' (off the 7" split with Bone Awl)
I literally had no idea anything with a d-beat could sound ethereal, in any way. Cursed my musical mindset with d-beat for years to come.

Corrupted - Sangre/Humanos
Not just the best Corrupted song, but the heaviest doom metal song out there. I challenge you to find a song heavier than this. (you won't succeed)
