It really is almost a distinctive taint isn't it?
Its like how a expert wine taster would compare a $30 bottle to a $15 bagged and boxed wine.

edit (just seen a picture of the band, looks like glam rock hair is coming back. Is this black metals next phase? Femininity and lipstick guyliner etc etc?)

First Arghoslent and now Mastodon comparisons? Some of you need to clean your ears. Commenting on a band's hair is just about the gayest thing I've read on this board.

It's 2017, you can admit the band photo made it move. Laughing

If you want to translate that hair comment into gay talk, that's alright... but its not some secret news old glam bands used to decorate themselves as such and trends and practices and styles seem to revolve in circles... and todays youth (the band looks young) seem to like things a good 30 years or so before they were born re-incorporating such elements back into themselves to some degree to try and invent something 'new' in a way.

Commenting on their hair gay or not... style and aesthetic such as that goes hand in hand with sound and genre as much as triangles and robes is part of the black metal occult division. Every detail is part of the whole.

If anyone still needs a CD of their debut album (far superior to anything this band did afterwards), then I have copies available now as before. Evil or Very Mad

a "Ketzer" is a bit too drastic I'd say. Rather it's a natural progression from Beautiful and Damned, but the disadvantage then is that the element of suprise is kind of lost (my jaw didn't drop this time around like it did when "Move in Chaos" came right out of nowhere).
It still comes off as a very well thought-out and put-together album by some amazingly talented young musicians! Kudos to that!

Good songs but I'm not a fan of the cleaner low watt guitar tone. Sounds a little boring to me. The songs will probably translate really well live though.

New album is boring Nuclear Blast metal. Doesn't have the energy of Beautiful and Damned.

I love the demo, split and 1st album, but they lost me with Beautiful and Damned. This new album definitely continues in the same direction. Good for what it is, just not my cup of tea.

Some of the riffs are interesting but overall yeah, just like others have said, pretty boring. Maybe just not for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They are following the footsteps of Raise Hell. Young people are so unstable nowadays.

Was listening to the new album the other day.
I don't remember the earlier stuff but I think it's really good.
But it makes me want to listen to Howls of Ebb more.

Domus Mysterium is an excellent album, well written and put together. Beautiful and Damned was fantastic as well. this band just keeps getting better with each release.
