I am a diehard, true til death lover of poppy punk. Not the MTV variety, but Dillinger Four is basically my favorite band on earth. Definitely no guilt though. Razz

Dillinger Four is good, the entire Hopeless catalog from '95-'98 is great. I'm a big fan of bands like 30footfall, Propagandhi, 88 Fingers Louie, Funeral Oration, White Kaps, Straight Faced, and a shit load of others.

Some non-metal bands/musicians I enjoy:

Hawkwind, Rush, Death in June, Joy Division, The Smiths, Dead Can Dance, While Angels Watch, Dido, Sol Invictus, Swans, Sigur Ros, Clannad, Vulcan's Hammer, Rush, Von Thronstahl, Eloy, The Moody Blues, Mr Fox, Andrew King, Genesis (prog years), King Crimson etc.

Also film soundtracks for Suspiria, Braveheart, The Last of the Mohicans, Lord of the Rings, Escape From New York, Blade Runner, Dune.

Also some cock rock like Motley Crue, Stryper, Ratt, Cinderella spring to mind for now.

I prefer Michale Graves era Misfits

WHAT THE FUCK??? I didnt know people like you even existed. I mean, ive only heard this era of misfits in passing and i thought it was complete garbage.

the misfits without danzig is not the misfits!!!

i really didnt think that anyone listened to the post-danzig albums except maybe kids who bought them at hot topic or something.

and i dont mean this as an attack or anything. we probably all have some weird shit we listen to that no one understands. thats what this thread is for anyway, right? im just amazed is all...

No problem bro, not everyone is into the same shit. I dont really care what people think, I got into this stuff when I was 10, and im 18 now heheheh. I still really enjoy this stuff, dont get me wrong I enjoy Danzig era as well, but I am just into Grave's vocals and I am into the music, sounds more agressive I think Very Happy

i don't like it more then the Danzig era.. but American Psycho is good ...saw them live back then, and they were really good with Graves

my list- 80's pop like Simple Minds, Smiths, Madonna, Falco, A-Ha, ect.. 90's alternative like ween, weezer, primus, sonic youth, boredoms, deerhoof, mogwai, lightning bolt, arab on radar, ect... jim o'rourke's solo albums... girl stuff like 2nd-era fleetwood mac.. most any 70's prog, krautrock, 80's punk and new wave if that counts

Some albums I own that people wouldn't expect me to have include ones by SISTERS OF MERCY, FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, SWITCHBLADE SYMPHONY, SMASHING PUMPKINS, NINE INCH NAILS, DEAD KENNEDYS, MARILYN MANSON, OFFSPRING. Most of them don't get played very often (with the exception of SISTERS OF MERCY and SMASHING PUMPKINS) but they all have their moments around here. I also have scores of ambient music like NEW RISEN THRONE, MORTHOND, RAISON D'ETRE, ONIROT, etc. I even have the soundtrack for the SNES game Chrono Trigger.

I don't feel the least bit guilty about any of it though - I like what I like, it's stupid to feel guilty about enjoying something like music just because it doesn't fit with the majority of my death/black metal tastes.

"Not a big music fan, huh?"

"No, I like music. Just they're... Huey's too black sounding for me. "
