| I really like the demo, but had a hard time warming up to the vocals. Are they pitch-shifted or something? |

Outstanding. I still listen to the tape that Wohrt put out. I had assumed these guys had broken up. _________________ "For we are the vultures who feast upon the rotting corpse of humanity" |

| Sounds good indeed. I wonder why they're going to that direction with the vocals though when the least processed bits sound the best & most powerful. |

The vocals have barely any effects on them: just a smidge of eq, compression and reverb (same as I would do for any vocal).
What he is doing is layering vocals, I think there's 2 or 3 vocal tracks on this one (most songs are just one though).
Also, he actually sounds like that _________________ Ignivomous merch: abaddon_963[at]hotmail.com

| Alright, I see. Layered & multiple vocal tracks never applealed to me either because when others seem to find it cool and chaotic it just sounds hissy and powerless in m years. Add a good amount of reverb and / or delay and you have a pretty fine mess. Not that this is the case here where the different vocal tracks are clearly separate but still, a good front man on his own delivering what he singlehandedly would in a live setting as well = perfect. |

I don't mean to derail the thread completely but here are some examples of great vocal approaches that stand on their own without gimmicks:
Clandestine Blaze
Marduk (the golden Legion -era)
Spear of Longinus (Domni Satnasi in particular)
Horna (Corvus on EESE)
In other words, less is more, once again. |
