They have missed too much the amazing old BEHEXEN sound....classic but ultra-evil finnish bm sound.
This is more "placid" and more "orthodox bm sounding club"
It is like the last THREE MARDUK albums, enjoyable but a bit insipid...
And very similar has happened to SARGEIST....listen to "Satanic black devotion" and then "Let the devil in"....and....yes....is not absolutely the same (in the negative way).
So....:S _________________ http://dolorydisciplina.blogspot.com.es/ ------LORD NAUSEA METAL COLLECTION BLOG |

| I've really been looking forward to this album. Listening to the album-stream now, and my first impressions is that it sounds insanely good. Incredible vocals, and such a massive, crushing sound. Pure excellence. |

Not really. A bit disappointing. Not a bad album but not too great either. Not also very fond of the growing swedish influence (Ofermod/Funeral Mist) that has come more upfront.
But then again my favourites are on the line By the Blessing/Horna split/From the Devil's Chalice. _________________

I caught a bit of the vibe of the Horna split/FTDC material on Nightside. Overall, I liked what I heard. It didn't blow me out of the water on first listen, but definitely a very solid album. I'm looking forward to seeing them live at NBM. _________________

Its a fair trade off for the Orthodox Finnish sound in exchange for the amount of riffs and improved songwriting overall in newer Behexen and Sargeist. Horna and countless other Finnish bands had already made the bulk of their material traditional Finnish bm, its nice to see at least a few bands go out of the way to do something not all that different and still make great music. _________________

| After one listen, i have to kinda agree with other finnish fellows here. Not disappointing because i didn't expected much. Good songwriting, thats for sure but nothing memorable. Album has a really powerful beginning, later half, not so much. My opinion could change when i listen some more, i'll buy this either way. Not bad at all, very enjoyable black metal but far from the masterpiece like By The Blessing of S. |

Any US/Canadian distributors confirmed? I guess HHR will get copies eventually?!
Looking forward to hear the whole LP! I have listened to a few tracks online, and I really like it! Hail Behexen! _________________ www.productionsheretiques.com |

Ominous Domain has listed in the arriving soon section, they usually get debemur Morti releases before other US distros. _________________ Trade/Want List

I've never been into Behexen but tonight I've listened a couple of tracks from Nightside Emanations and liked what I heard. I was reading the YouTube comments saying that they're not playing in the same vein than their previous records but I liked the music anyways.
Do you have any recommendation to start listening Behexen? (i.e: based on your own listening experience, I know that there is a website called Metal Archives ) |

Split with Horna. Everything else they've done is pretty far behind (not that the rest of their stuff is bad, but that split is great) IMO. _________________ Good buyers/sellers/traders: Rabenzauber, Tireheb, DTD, motorcharged82, LifeDepraved, Wilhelm |
