What are the top 5 best concerts you've seen?

Danzig -- on the Danzig 3 tour, Chuck Biscuits is the best live drummer I've seen
Sepultura -- Chaos AD tour, the whole place went off
Slayer -- South Of Heaven tour
Skinny Puppy -- Too Dark Park tour, weird show, they were weird freaks back then
Revenge -- good evil intensity

there's other top shows I've seen, top for different reasons, but I'm going to keep my list like this

If you want, also list Top 5 weirdest shows, Top 5 most intense shows, Top 5 basement shows, etc.

King Diamond, Fun Fun Fun Fest, Austin, TX - just fuckin' masterful, what a show. everyone should see the King before they die

The first time I saw Dillinger Escape Plan, Tallahassee, FL - still the most violent and energetic band I've ever seen

Dead Can Dance, Moody Theater, Austin, TX - emotional time in my life and they fucking sounded SO GOOD. moved me to goddamn tears man it was intense

Vomitor, Red 7, Austin, TX - pure alcoholic mania, my neck was sore for a week and i was still blackout drunk in the morning

Can't even think of a 5th that matches up to those maybe I will later

High on Fire - Surrounded by Thieves tour. They sounded more like a skeletal symphony from the pits of hell than a band. A brilliant mix of motorhead, venom, celtic frost, early Slayer and the Melvins.

The Gates of Slumber - Hymns of Blood and Thunder era. They played The Doom of Aceldama, The Awakening, and a few other choice cuts. I am still trying to recover from the shameful fanboy-dom that I allowed myself to fall into for this band.

Soilent Green - sometime around 2004/2005. They played all the best songs from SMS and a Deleted Symphony. They were an amazing band that accomplished so much in such little time.

Neurosis - 2007. Seeing Scott Kelly on stage do his thing was like watching a man subject himself to an exorcism. You couldn't just "enjoy" the show - it felt like you were seeing a good guy send himself into a really dark place.

Manilla Road - 2014ish. It was just great to have a chance to see Mark do his thing. He wrote most of my favorite material in the late 70's / early 80's, but in my books he is just as legendary as Iommi and Blackmore.

Tough call!

Metallica - 1992; first show ever
Unleashed/Broken Hope/Demented Ted - 1994; first death metal show
MDF 1 - 2003; so much different than now. Awesome time.
Slayer/Megadeth - 2009. SITA and RIP in full. Yes. Last time seeing Hanneman live too
Iron Maiden - 2012; Great throwback show and they played The Prisoner

Like OP said, too many other shows could easily make the list.

Danzig - Las Vegas House of Blues 2004. Circle of Snakes had just come out and they opened with Skincarver, I thought my heart was going to pop out of my chest.

KISS - Allentown PA 2016. Don't care if you're not a fan of the band, they put on one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen. Not to mention they're all old as hell now.

Iron Maiden - Holmdel NJ 2008. It was pouring rain, thunder/lightning during Maiden's set. Absolutely perfect.

Triptykon - Maryland Deathfest 2015. Seeing Tom Warrior in the flesh performing a couple Celtic Frost and Hellhammer songs was an incredible experience. The band was tight and sounded heavy as fuck.

Blood Incantation - Lucky 13 Brooklyn NY 2016. Starspawn had been out for less than a month so the hype machine wasn't fully rolling yet. Maybe 30-40 people there, the atmosphere and energy was electric. One of the best current live bands without question.

Tough to come up with just five, but I'm content with that list. Honorable mention, seeing Undergang/Necrot together earlier this year. Both bands crushed.

Lluvia, Sortilegia, Sutekh Hexen - Golden Bull, Oakland 2016

Botch, Cave In, Jesuit, Ire, Eighteen Visions - 924 Gilman, Berkeley 1998

Countervail, Hoods, After The Fall, Period Of Decline, Conscientious Objector - Boy Scout Hall, Redding 1999 (bias, played this show but it was fucking great, every band killed it)

Eighteen Visions, Martyr AD, Brothers Keeper - Basement Hall, Santa Cruz 2001

Training For Utopia, Countervail, Time In Malta - Chain Reaction, Anaheim 1999

I just can't enjoy shows the way I did back In the late 90s/early 00s; but that Lluvia show was the best ive experienced, Period.

Mayhem on this past US tour.
-I was pleasantly surprised. Leagues ahead of the other time that I had seen them. Even without the dead pigs, they were 100% on their A-game.

Riot - Token Lounge, Detroit .
-A year or two ago. Flawless performance and set.

Morbid Angel - Covenant 20th Anniversary Tour in Cleveland at the Agora

Cianide, Coffinworm, Radiation Sickness and Absconder - 2013 in Indiana

Bolt Thrower - Chaos in Tejas 2013

Great thread OP! Here's mine

Akitsa - Very angry yet classy performance

Sargeist/Behexen (w/Luctus from One Tail One Head) - Classic sound

Inquisition - Vohlan played strings on this performance

Total Abuse - Not even my cup of tea, but the main guy seemed pissed and genuine as fuck. A+ performance.

Bone Awl - Really stand up guys, I talked to the drummer for a long while about tapes and other relevant obsessions. He later moved on to make the Seedstock label.

Not a band, but another great performance I saw was Patrice O'Neal. For those that know me personally, comedy shows have always been one of my vices. Laughed so hard at this one, I cried nonstop. RIP you funny motherfucker Sad

Iron Maiden/Dio/Motorhead (2003 or 04) - So... Drunk...

Neurosis/Eyehategod (summer 1997) - An endless loop of Budd Dwyer blowing his head off during Locust Star.

Immortal/Satyricon/Angelcorpse/Krisium (early 2000's) - Pretty good lineup here.

Acid Mothers Temple (2001) - A couple of days after 9/11, a bunch of drugged out people getting their minds blown.

Every Anal Cunt show I ever attended

Weirdest: Macronympha - A Rodger Stella extravaganza of cunnilingus, stinkpalms, and buying heroin off of some black dude in a feathered coat mid set then snorting it.
