Never understood why people need have different coloured vinyl or print of the same album. Metal is about music not who has the biggest shit of same thing! For me this thing means making of extrapofit of labels/bands!

It is certainly exploitation of a particular release and bands momentary fame, and targets people with hoarding tendencies.

One day in about twenty years on the new season of Hoarders on TV we will see one of these metal collections as the crew cleans up some basement dwelling metal collectors crap a dude digging through forty copies of the same album with different colored vinyl or a different spelling on a insert of some word to find the owners squashed cat when the stack of useless shit fell over and killed the poor beast, the owner will be all confused, I hadn't seen fluffy since 1994 ...my purple dildo Ghost cream flavored special collectors edition wand with alternate studs, you found it under those 300 different variations of my bootlegged yellow goat's Bathory albums with slightly different yellow hues etc etc

Never understand having multiple copies of the same album aside from certain situations. I.e having the LP for home and CD for the road, having a 'back up' LP and such. But having 5+ different versions of the same release is incredibly ridiculous and just goes to show how nerdy fans can be Laughing

It'd be really nice to see some genuinely unusual stuff with interesting stories and provenance attached. My collection is in transit right now or I'd kick it off myself.

Yea, home made stuff or unusual art items would be far more interesting than dozens of copies of the same album with a different shade of color associated with it.

I understand if you are a 'fan' of the band or an album. I have different pressings of certain Iron Maiden albums for example. Same goes for Motorhead. Other times I would find things for cheap at a used music store. It's hard to pass on a copy of "Hell Awaits" released on Banzai Records when the price tag is $5 even though you already have the Metal Blade version.

What I don't understand is people who just buy for the sake of having it. Or better yet spending hundreds of dollars for the 'first' pressing even though there are re-issues available. Like the auction I posted in the eBay thread for the Marduk "Those Of The Unlight" LP which sold for over $300 recently.

Just because you guys are complaining about people buying different versions of the same records, here's something more for you to be upset about... Enjoy!

Albums.

Hell on...

Great collections (RR and Nun Slaughter)!

And this is wrong topic to comment how someone is an idiot as he has bought all the different editions, this topic is about collections.

Is yours numbered? According to http://www.discogs.com/NunSlaughter-Hex/release/2793100 it should be, but I'm pretty sure mine is not.

Thanks, Mikael! And I totally agree with you too.

Here's something that will make people turn their head away in disgust...

No, it' isn't. I think that only the silver version is numbered.
