I was jamming some Immortal Hammer after work yesterday and it got me hungering for more old black metal with insane programmed drums.

There’ve been threads on this board in the past debating the legitimacy of programmed drums or discussing who did it best but that’s not what I’m looking for: out of control 90s drum machine madness ONLY!

The weirder and less organic sounding the better!

ROTUGF is the closest active band to The Berzerker that I know of, sucks that the band ended, arguably the only two "Industrial" bands that I like.

Immortal Hammer is also from 2001 actually, ha! I guess what I mean by “90s” is “old ways” so yeah early 2000s stuff is definitely fine as long as it’s not like melodic goth black metal stuff!

Thanks for the recommendations so far all!

lymphatic phlegm here has some black metal-ish riffs though

Some years ago I saw Blacklodge live ... 5 minutes ... drums were already painfull on album ... but they took an other putrid dimension live ... that was total shit . Could match your research for "out of control " because I'm pretty sure they didn't know a damn thing about what they were doing !!!

There are too many to mention, and the most active period was probably right around 2000 especially within the NSBM boom at the time. (see: Jew Atomizer, Xenophobia, etc).

Stuff like:
Blacksstorm 'Thermonuclear whisper'
Revenge (Poland)
Most of the bands on Fucking Armageddon prod. label
Mjolnir and related bands

I think every band on Satan's Millenium label at one point used drum machine
Akitsa
Misanthropy (US)
Strid / Lugubre
Burning winds
Kerberos

Obitus (Sweden) - They could have actually been a great extension of the Zyklon B , Niden Div. 187 style sound if they actually had a real drummer.

Same with Uranium 235
