The weird recording glitches and jangly jingo jango guitar rule. There are parts that sound like what I would imagine 60's garage rock would sound like to someone on PCP. The dirted out chanting parts are tastefully done and not to excess. Good interludes as well. The packaging is also pretty dusted.

I've been listening to this nonstop. I've never heard anything like this to be honest...

Any other recommendations of stuff like this?

Wulkanaz is great. Make sure to check out his other releases too.

Are you familiar with Lugubrum?

Yeah Lugubrum is cool. I really liked Face Lion Face Oignon and Albino De Congo for similar reasons...I tend to err on this side of black metal these days.

I wish I had heard about Wulkanaz earlier...dude's back catalog on discogs is expensive. Good stuff

This new one is even deeper into the strangeness. I really enjoy it, as I have all Wulkanaz material so far.

I gave them a listen or two and just bored me. The music is missing whatever Wulkanaz has.

Great album! Probably the best of the year. You might find something similar in Dead Reptile Shrine.

Will wait for the tape also. Hopefully it won't be another weirdo in the tape rack like the last two.

Agreed. I woudl like to think that the music is good enough that the packaging gimmicks shouldn't be necessary. I guess it helps sales (thanks to collectors and ebayers) but it's disappointing to see.

It's hard to criticize the extra work and touch that goes into it, maybe it is just done for the creative outlet, but I think it's misdirected and creates major inconvenience. I take the tapes out and put them in a regular case with a home made label. The fancy packaging is in the closet somewhere.

OK, this was supposed to be an APPRECIATION thread so I will stop at that. The LP is fine, no gimmicks and seems to have been printed in a big enough edition to accommodate everybody.

Im surprised the debut is not sold out from SS yet. His other releases all sold out in less time and they were not full lengths. This is the best wulkanaz material yet IMO. Very strange and interesting.
