Wondering what people think of this band, especially considering their bm credentials.

I really dig Severance their debut (btw, is it still on sale anywhere? looking for a copy) and not too keen on their last one No More Heroes. Still have to spend some time with Blind Scenes.

Good luck finding Severance, it's nearly impossible to get. Anyways, great band and one of the best for this sound in the new era.

And I'm not a fan of No More Heroes.

I love Blind Scenes, it's full of personal memories, emotions and melancholic atmosphere, absolutely brilliant album. I regularly return to it, it's perfect soundtrack for cold and tranquil autumn evenings. Severance is also very good, last song especially is very beautiful and melancholic. Absolutely one of the best post-punk/goth rock bands from 21th century. I have some songs from the latest album but I haven't found the same brilliance what makes previous releases so phenomenal.

Totally agree. Couldn't say better.

No More Heroes at it's peaks has more instant songs, but I found it to be a lot less consistent than Blind Scenes, I'd dare say it even sounds like they were shooting for a more commerical sound with that one. Blind Scenes and Severence are great though, in my opinion some of the best goth rock I've come across in a long time. I wasn't actually aware of the member's metal backgrounds (when I heard one of them was a fashion photographer, I stopped paying attention to that side so I didn't end up hating them) at all though, but being French I dare say I don't care about it either.

regarding the Severance EP, Prophecy Productions obtained the rights to it (available at spotify) and I suppose a re-release will be done this year, maybe around the time the new album Apollo gets released

btw the band will perform the EP live at Prophecy Fest this year in its entirety

Great news hope the new one is better than No More Heroes which was pretty lackluster

If you like Soror Dolorosa, you should check out Asylum Party.

Severance & Blind Scenes sound pretty good. Also back in 2008-2009 they had some great tracks on their myspace page that never made its way to official release: Falling Dusk, Schyzophrène Bleu, Cathodicum, Loser Saleable Deviance. Would be great to hear them in better quality than myspace streaming.
And right, I never get into "No more heroes" too.

Lots of love for Soror Dolorosa, I can really kick myself I missed them when they played in my old home town. The new album is wrapped up and will be released later this year.

Having grown up with goth/ wave/ post punk stuff, I must say it is quite nice to see who various strands are getting spun together, with (black) metal etc. But that's probably just mushy me.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up.

Know if any audio is available for the new record?
