Well Henbane didn't sell out overnight. There is probably some ebay faggot tears streaming today from a few guys that ordered a dozen plus copies. Laughing

I find myself going back to that one a lot. Even though it's one part of a cohesive whole, I just love wallowing in that particular morass of filth and poison.

I agree on all counts. This is the first album since "Graves of the Archangels" that I'll own in all 3 formats.

Passion... Is my favorite track here by a landslide.

My fav is "The Devil Intimate"

That slow part in the middle with the organ is PHENOMENAL.
Fucking phenomenal...

Though they broke my bones
And crushed my hands with stones
Mocked my painful moans
Yet my spirit rebelliously roams

That is why it's so damn good.

I dont want to give too much credit to Nameless Void in this release. He was involved but the record was purely done by CdG.

Vintage Black Magic is one of the best songs I've heard on years. Crushingly heavy, great occult atmosphere and some of the most inhuman shrieks I've heard in recent memory. So excited to get my vinyl copy, been having to resort to mp3's.

Yeah. I don't think Nameless Void had THAT much to do with how great Henbane turned out, especially when seeing as how Haxan and Spectres Over Transylvania are both just as killer (if not more so).

I would give more respect to MGLA rather than Nameless Void. Soundscape that MGLA dude created to Henbane is so monstrous and old schoolish that it makes songs so much better.

What did Nameless Void actually do on this album anyway?

I say give respect to all individuals involved, more or less, in this glorious exhibition of black metal paranoia.

CULTES DES GHOULES is one of the most authentic bands out there.
