I've always been a fan of the early years of Ministry, I even enjoy gothic new wave... whatever you wanna call it era of the band with Al's fake british accent. But Land of Rape and Honey has always stood out to me the most in the discography. It's dark, aggressive, and quite catchy throughout. Without a doubt an essential for the entire industrial scene.

Anyone else a fan of this record?

It's a great record I think their next album is my favourite but this is number two no doubt.

Absolutely! Outstanding record, the one I play the most beside Filth Pig.

im a fan of basically everything uncle al has ever put his creativity into. that being said, the land of rape and honey is in my top three ministry albums for sure, following psalm 69 the mind is a terrible thing to taste.

Best Ministry record and the real beginning of this kind of industrial-electro-metal thing with Skinny Puppy's Rabbies on which Al played guitars too and which - if memory serves well - was released the same year.

RevCo, 1000 Homo DJ's, Lard... All great. Can't say I'm a fan of anything post-Dark Side of the Spoon except for a few spare songs, though.

That trilogy of albums is simply unmatchable.

Love this one, but I think "The Mind..." is the best thing Ministry did. It's more aggressive and also a little more obscure (a quality they pretty much lost right afterward - Psalm 69 is a more blunt album, good as it is, and later on with stuff like Rio Grande Blood, Al was pretty much making straightforward industrial/thrash).

Pioneering record and a band that deserves a lot of respect. First 5 albums are great. Dark Side Of The Spoon's first 3 songs are some of their best, but rest of the album sucks. Animositisomina was ok with good atmosphere and catchy riffs. "The End Of Days part 2" is the only song I really like in all those albums after. Kind of stupid to listen to anti-bush songs now.

I remember there was gonna be a Ministry documentary called "Fix", but can't seem to find anything about it atm.

Love me some Ministry. Just went on a serious kick for this stuff not that long ago after reading Al's book. Animositisomina is where I stopped listening, but pretty much everything that came before it is pure fucking gold. This is the music I cut my teeth on back in my teens, and it will never get old.

slightly off-topic (because to quote ID:UD, the less said about Ministry in 20[16] the better) but has anything from Surgical Meth Machine surfaced?

I love this album. Dark side of the spoon is my favorite.
Al's book was a bit of a wankfest but his innovation is inspiring.
I Love skinny puppy more tho. Too dark park ftw.
