I was randomly looking at the Osmose website and I stumbled upon these reissues of the first two full lengths of Necromantia:

Crossing the Fiery Path
http://www.osmoseproductions.com/item/2/94903-98000168-1231-1-0/115198527/necromantia-crossing-the-fiery-path.html

Scarlet Evil Witching Black
http://www.osmoseproductions.com/item/2/0-110402-1201-1-0/115198523/necromantia-crossing-the-fiery-path.-splatter-vinyl..html

Apparently these were released in the end of August. Has anyone listened to them at all and can comment on the quality of the reissues?

Osmose has a habit of omitting tracks on reissues, so make sure every track is on there before you buy.

I have that new Crossing the Fiery Path LP. Looks great to me. Tracklisting is correct, 8 page booklet stapeled to the inside of the gatefold. They used the original typeface, the cover looks like on the original LP. Heavy vinyl, sound is great, too. High Roller in Germany sells it for 18 which is a really fair price for a very well done LP. Get it.

I had a few copioes in stock here. They sounded fine to me although the booklet and layout left a lot to be desired.

I bought the Scarlet Evil.... one a month ago from Hells Headbangers. Sounds good and heavy to my ears (don't have an original to compare, though). Layout is nice and as mentioned, nice big booklet stapled into the gatefold. Only complaint is the "red" vinyl is more of a dull purple and doesn't look so hot.

A stapled insert with a vinyl release? That was a really bad idea with the Spear Of Longinus LP, hope they put some thought to it so it doesn't tear scratches on the records...

Stapled inside the gatefold itself, not the insert. It works just fine, no danger to the LP.

As long as these have center labels and normal sized center holes I'll buy one. I have no idea what the fuck Osmose was thinking with that last round of reissues of these. I got rid of mine within a week of getting them.

Despite some of the unusual choices for the release (weird color, stapled insert) it's a really well done release in my opinion. Sounds fantastic.
