Therefore Century Media would give the band more money. Common sense really. |
Not really. Just working on some maths right now for a part of my business side of my university course so thought I'd do some quick sums. I wouldn't call that autistic. But thanks for the concern regardless.
Anyway, I agree with your point about CM being able to give a better royalty deal given their market share and obvious clout. Shame really as Blood Music would have likely done, overall, a better job with presentation etc as he/they can invest more time into the production process due to fewer simultaneous commitments with other releases. |

We offered them a little bit less than Century Media, but barely less. And on the flipside, offered to make a much more expensive package than Century Media, so our investment would've been way higher. It was their idea to limit to 500 in the first place. _________________ motW/Lykathea Aflame/Sigh/Whourkr/Manii/Thy Catafalque available

| Fair enough, unfortunately that is business. Move onto the next project and forget about it. Money spent just goes down as business costs at the end of the day. |

Once again I end up quoting myself. Hopefully some label owner can hear our cries.

If I were a record label mogul, I would partner with Cornelius Bastard right here, right now! How about you? |

Also, in 2013 (if the world will last that long, that is) we'll start (re-) releasing some classics of East European Black Metal on wax:
- KATAXU (Pol) "North/Roots Thunder" - LP
- KATAXU (Pol) "Hunger of Elements" - LP |
Let's see if those really happen.
Northern Heritage said once that they had tried to make Kataxu vinyls but communication with the band was extremely hard because of language barrier. So eventually the project was dropped. _________________

Ulver's been covered a jillion times. Everyone wants those records but the rights are jammed and not even the band has managed to unlock them.
Uncle Acid Vol. 1 is a pretty cool record. I spoke with the band several times about it, and they said they were not interested in re-releasing it on any format. _________________ motW/Lykathea Aflame/Sigh/Whourkr/Manii/Thy Catafalque available

They're not? Can't understand it, such a great album. Does anybody on this forum have the original CD-R? If there's no official release planned I'm taking into consideration to make a single vinyl copy for myself because I just hate listening to those 128 kb MP3s and I'd need a lossless rip or a 1:1 copy of it. |

The cost to do a properly cut single copy of vinyl would not be worth it IMO, and I don't support bootlegging whatsoever. I think it's a bit lame that they won't view it as a true release, but I think they have in mind that it's purely a demo. It's their prerogative if they don't want to re-release it, sadly.
In the event it's up for grabs, it seems like something that Rise Above would wind up doing anyhow ... _________________ motW/Lykathea Aflame/Sigh/Whourkr/Manii/Thy Catafalque available
