not a single mention of Zakaz, who have potential.

Someone gave me a download code to their album at Oration. Sounded interesting, at least refreshingly different to the usual Icelandic sound.

New E.P

Don't think it was mentioned elsewhere here.

Sounds weirdly 'melodic'. I'm not sure, will listen a few more times.

I was conservatively skeptical about the melodic nature of this release but I listened to this a few times and I'm sold. That being said, I hope they'll keep within the margins of the melody's they chose for their debut. Regardless, being a fan who usually loathes melodic music, Sinmara just does it right, so I'll always return to assess a new contribution to the genre.

I just picked up the vinyl from post office this week. I like the old stuff a lot, but this new one sounds really good, too. The melodies make it sound a tad more traditional. I also dig the fact that they made a track in Icelandic.

Hha, does it? DF is a band who I have never spent much time with, so I don't know. I have the idea that this means generic, 'norsecore'.I feel like this comparison isn't a good thing!

Serious question, why exactly does the Icelandic BM scene tends to have the same DsO-Orthoccult-Metametaphysical-Metaphilosophical theme?, not complaining, I love this sound and aesthetic, unlike many of the people in here that are fucking tired of it.

I am fine to keep hearing some DsO-imitations, since they tend to take long to release new stuff, while we do not have the real deal, let us enjoy some cheap Shenzhen street market bootlegs of it.

Just genuinely confused why this specific country and specific scene has this.

Iceland has the population of a small city. Half the bands share members. Same thing usually happens with 'collectives'. It'd be more surprising if the bands sounded unique from each other and had entirely different themes.

Still hoping for Flames of Hell to return out of the flames of hell by surprise.
