Sinmara has a few good songs but the album is just too long for me to really get into. It starts to unravel around the 1/3 mark and just doesn't recover. It's an amateurish mistake trying for a 70 minute album right off the bat, but one they can rectify with a second release.

It's less than 53 minutes long.

I agree on Sinmara.. the album's not bad by all means, but the riffs just don't sound good enough to my ears. Maybe, my opinion will change in time, maybe... but for the time being I consider them to be just an "ok" band, nothing more, nothing less.

My bet is on Shrine (Gone Postal). Damn it, Ive been waiting for this album for 3 or 4 years now. The grand wizard Nokkvi can do no wrong.

Eager to hear more about Grafir.

Are there any fests or good shows in Iceland this summer? My girlfriend and I are planning a trip up that way in celebration of my graduating from university.

Absolutely agree. I really liked those Gone Postal songs (from their live videos) and I'm eagerly awaiting a studio version.

Here's Spewing Gloom by SHRINE aka ex-Gone Postal.
I'm really looking forward to UNORTHETA.

I am not impressed, i think Svartidaudi is enough, possibly Misthyrming, but this other bands (sinmara, shrine) sound too similar and inferior to svartidaudi

Aušn is a fairly new (as far as I know) Icelandic band which I'm very fond of:
