yes, he also did the covers of 1st album, 3rd album, return to nuclear hell lp (split w/B.RAIDS) and livetape.

The painting with the 4 beastly emperors is unique in my opinion.
He drew the virgin mary with a face of a french dirty lady of the 18th century with down sindrome and she is smiling instead of crying...and christ is drew with typical jew face features and he looks retarded....which I find to be one of the most blasphemous and iconoclastyc things that I've ever seen...and the slashes on the body are unbelivable...they seems real!!!
I had the opportunity to admire the painting last weekend and the anatomic details are impressive....the vortex of flesh and disgust is pure genius and the melting between the 3 dimensions is pure medieval art....a perfect mix between Caravaggio, Cimabue and a sick mind possessed by Satan 24h/day!

when he work with pencils in b/w he adopt another style. Also the frames of the last BLASPHEMOPHAGHER album and the mutant monster in the booklet pics pages were made by Paolo.

In my honest opinion, this guy has to be among the most talented artists I have seen when it comes to heavy metal artwork. As much as anything, the level of patience that would be required to create such incredible compositions is nothing short of amazing.
I think it also worth looking at his artworks which are not done for album/demo/etc covers as these are equally as staggering in their own right, with some of them where you have to even look twice to check they're not photographs. Part of the pleasure of viewing artwork for me is seeing each individual brush stroke. This is something that I would also like to see of Paulo's paintings but sadly I doubt I will ever see any in the flesh. |
