The first four songs on Vanity/Nemesis are absolutely killer, but the second half of the album can't hold that level, alas.

Cool album in it's own right. The vocals remind me of Christian Death.

The vocals remind me of some whimpering faggot. They're the biggest reason I don't like the album. The guitar production was limp, too. It sounds like someone showed them Bauhaus, Ministry, and Christian Death and they tried to jam it into their sound.

But of course, Tom ripped Rozz all over.... Few years later Italian Monumentum did the same thing:) Just listen to their demo

I prefer the opposite: Side B) is killer, Side A) is filler.

So then the vocals do remind you of Christian Death.

Ha ha ! Just wanted to put on Vanity / Nemesis again only to have a vinyl copy of Into the Pandemonium falling in my hands. Sometimes my collection surprises myself ! I usually only pull Morbid Tales out !
So I will give Into the Pandemonium a listen right now Smile

Some nice ideas, good riffs and some cool songs. All fucked by really silly vocals and the experimental stuff sits on the Illud Divinium Insanus / Grad Declaration of War side of crappy experimentalism (even though Frost were better in that department).
Vanity/Nemesis makes me think of Anime.

the vox on this are 10,000 x faggier than anything Rozz Williams did...

overall, i admire the potential, but it's poorly executed.

vocals are shit --- Whenever tom goes Expiremental (non black/thrash) it is usually total shit..... His vocals might have stayed faggy from the gallons of cum that were swallowed during the cherry orchards video.

...and if you don't feel a thing when "DISTRACTION AND ENVY, BABYLON FELL!!!" kicks in, you probably don't like Celtic Frost in the first place.
